TRANSACT is a huge industry event that brings everyone working in the payment ecosystem together for one of the year’s biggest networking and educational opportunities. Companies large and small gather for keynote speeches, exhibits and awards. And we’re proud to have been a part of all the action.

The IRIS CRM team, including Jaron Ruckman, Director of Support; Jason Weinberger, SVP of Sales and Marketing; and President Dimitri Akhrin attended TRANSACT 18, which was held from April 17 to 19 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Our booth was always busy, with great foot traffic. When we weren’t manning the booth, we were exploring all that the event had to offer (and celebrating our big win). By the time TRANSACT 18 was over, we walked away with three key takeaways to share.

1. The Landscape Is Changing

TRANSACT is undoubtedly the largest event of its kind, with 120 speakers, 40 educational sessions and more than 200 exhibits. The common thread running through the entire gathering? The industry is changing.

New payment technology continues evolving, and new partnerships between hardware and software companies blaze new trails for the future of the payment industry. As part of her “Future of Commerce” keynote speech, Reetika Grewal, head of payments and strategy solutions at Silicon Valley Bank, noted, “Payments is not the centerpiece anymore. It’s the experience around the payment that has evolved.”

2. TRANSACT Offers Great Networking Opportunities

Our team had great face time with current clients and made a lot of new contacts with people that came to the show to speak with us. From enjoying a fabulous business dinner at Bazaar Meats to going to the all-attendee networking party to hitting the afterparty at the speakeasy hosted by National Merchants Association, there’s no doubt we had a great time.

In addition to having fun and meeting new people, we also gave over 100 demos to those interested in our solution. The photobooth was a hit, snapping over 200 pictures and offering a fun way for people to interact with our company and enjoy the event even more.

3. We Won!

We came to the event as finalists for the 2018 Star Awards — and we left as winners. As ETA President Jason Oxman noted, “The ETA Star Awards are the highest honor in our industry. TRANSACT is the annual gathering of the payments industry, and the Visa President’s Dinner and Star Awards Gala gives us a chance to recognize and honor those who have given the most to help our industry grow.”

IRIS CRM took home the award for Technology Innovation, an award that recognizes the innovative technology we’re using to help our customers do everything from managing their leads to onboarding new customers to leveraging real-time user tracking. The ETA announced, “We’re thrilled to bestow this honor on you, as you perfectly exemplify all that the award stands for.”

We’re honored by the win. And we’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the next show (MWAA) in Chicago in July.
